McClearen a Teacher of the Year nominee

Liz McClearen, a student at Southern Wesleyan’s North Augusta learning center, was nominated for Teacher of the Year at Aiken County School District.

Byrnes names Holcombe Teacher of the Year

Debbie Holcombe, a SWU graduate and physical education teacher, was named 2013-14 Teacher of the Year at James F. Byrnes High School.

Lazenby named Teacher of the Year

Amber Lazenby, a fifth-grade teacher at Hephzibah Elementary School and a recent Southern Wesleyan University graduate, was named the school’s 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year.

Frayer named Teacher of Year

Deirdre Frayer, a Southern Wesleyan University student at Charleston, was nominated Teacher of the Year for her school Clay Hill Middle School, located in Dorchester School District 4.

Columbia students are teachers of the year

Ashley Robinson, left, of Burnside Elementary School and Audrey White Garner, right of Burton Pack Elementary School, both in Richland School District 1, were voted 2013 Teacher of the Year at their schools.

SWU graduate receives Milken Educator Award

Shasta Looper, a fourth-grade teacher at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School in Greenville County School District and a Southern Wesleyan University graduate, received the 2012 South Carolina Milken Educator Award.
