Campus Restoration and Preparedness Fund

As many people across the southeast are still struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we at Southern Wesleyan University are also feeling the impact. While we are grateful to God for shielding our campus from the worst of the storm’s effects, we now face the challenge of rebuilding and repairing damage to buildings and infrastructure as a result of fallen trees and flooding. The impact of Helene has been deeply felt by our students, faculty, and staff. However, as a resilient, Christ-centered community, we know that together we can overcome this challenge.

Today, we are asking for your prayers and your help by giving to The Campus Restoration and Preparedness Fund. This fund will support the immediate repair and restoration efforts needed to ensure that our campus continues to be a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place for our students. While we don’t yet know the final costs, they could potentially reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars, making your support even more crucial during this time.

Your Help is Urgently Needed:

  • Critical Repairs: Several buildings sustained damage, including roofing and minor structural issues, widespread water leaks, HVAC problems, and electrical malfunctions. The School of Science, Technology, and Mathematics lost a significant inventory of lab supplies. Additionally, the loss of so many trees has greatly impacted the natural beauty of our campus.
  • Preparedness: The University Dining Commons was able to provide meals without power for five days, but that truly stretched their resources to the limit and highlights the need to purchase and install generators that will keep campus hubs fully operational, even if we are faced with a prolonged power outage again.
  • Student Safety: The recovery efforts include the removal of fallen and dangerously leaning trees, repairs to damaged pathways, and installing additional emergency lighting to our student residence halls.

Every Gift Makes a Difference

Your contribution—no matter the size—will directly help us recover and rebuild. In times of crisis, we rely on our faith in God and His strength at work through our community. It is our prayer and our commitment to restore what has been damaged and emerge even stronger.

Would you consider a generous gift today to help us recover from Hurricane Helene and prepare for future crises?

Thank you for standing with us. Together, let’s continue to pursue our mission of Christ-centered education.
