New university entrance at S.C. Highway 93

New SWU entrance

SWU is getting closer to the final step for a new entrance boulevard at S.C. Hwy. 93, supported by state and county road improvement funds. This will help the university better accommodate traffic entering the campus for athletic events, particularly large buses.

Sept. 13, 2016: The gravel parking lot has been closed and earthmoving begins at the residence hall site. (Note: A new parking lot has opened along Wesleyan Drive near the Flag Plaza).

Aug. 18, 2016: The former Alumni House has been torn down, as well as the former P.B. Wood psychologist office. The gravel parking lot will be closed and parking moved to another area.

 CLYDE DUPIN CELEBRATION Amphitheater

A new amphitheater, being constructed between Nicholson-Mitchell Christian Ministry Center and Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center, will become an inviting space for concerts and other outdoor events when it is completed during Summer 2016.

 

 PARKING ENHANCEMENTS

Oct. 13, 2016: New pavement near Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza and Joe R. Gilbert Track and Field.

Sept. 30: A new bus stop is taking shape along Wesleyan Drive for Clemson Area Transit (CATbus). This includes a pull-off lane and will also include sidewalk and curbing as well as a shelter.

Sept. 14, 2016: Gravel parking lot across from Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza and Joe R. Gilbert Track and Field is ready for cars.

Sept. 8: Paving the lot behind Nicholson-Mitchell Christian Ministry Center.

Parking is being added behind the Nicholson-Mitchell Christian Ministry Center and Ampitheater.

Sept. 7: Starting to put down the gravel.

Two-hundred parking spaces are being added along Wesleyan Drive, close to the Joe R. Gilbert Track and Soccer Complex and Varsity Field, home of Warriors Softball.

Sept. 4: The parking lot across from the flag plaza and track & soccer complex has been graded and gravel is being applied.

The size of the Welcome Center parking lot was doubled during Summer 2016.

Parking is being added to accommodate campus growth and provide adequate spaces for our visitors attending events.
