| PROFILE: | Dr. Priscilla Hammond has worked in business environments, including marketing, national accounts, and management in the staffing industry, as well as recruiting and human resource management for a high-tech engineering and manufacturing corporation. Following her human resource management career, Hammond served in two megachurches in The Wesleyan Church, in which she is an ordained minister. Whether in for-profit corporations or non-profit religious organizations, she continuously improved her understanding and practice of leadership and management and desires to help others connect the theories and practices of leadership to their organizational context. This led to a desire to work in higher education, which gave Hammond the opportunity to write and teach graduate-level courses and concentrations for Southern Wesleyan University that combine business principles and Christian values to create a Christ-centered, student-focused online learning community of servant leaders. She has presented on servant leadership and ethical Christian leadership and contributed a chapter on “Transformational Leadership” to Leadership in the Wesleyan Way: An Anthology for Forming Leaders in Wesleyan Thought and Practice (2016). Dr. Hammond is a missional church coach, helping pastors to apply organizational leadership principles in their congregations. Hammond serves on several boards. She is the president of the board of Wesleyan Holiness Women Clergy and is the past-president of Southern Wesleyan University's National Alumni Association Board of Directors. Education
