Wickham awarded scholarship
Michaela Wickham, a Southern Wesleyan University sophomore from Blythewood and member of the Softball Team, was awarded the John and Jody Wheeler Ministry Scholarship.
The scholarship was made possible by the first-place finish of a team representing Southern Wesleyan in the NCCAA Pro-Am Golf Classic, which includes a two-day college scholarship round as part of the event. This team, comprised of Chad Perry, Dustin Knapp, Tom Harding and Pete Wood, earned SWU the $3,000 John and Jody Wheeler Ministry Scholarship to pass along to a deserving student-athlete who is in a missions or ministry related major. Harding and Wood are Southern Wesleyan graduates.
In addition to the missions/ministry scholarships, the Pro-Am raises funds to support student-athletes and coaches with funding for sports ministry trips. These funds will assist the NCCAA in sharing the gospel around the world through athletics outreach. Many lives are changed each year through these trips.
SWU is a dual member of the NCCAA, in conjunction with their NCAA Division II status.
