West-Oak’s Hawkins receives SWU ensemble scholarship
Candice Hawkins, a graduate of West-Oak High School will participate in choral ensembles as she prepares to earn a music education degree in the Fine Arts Division of Southern Wesleyan University, a National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accredited institution.
Present at her signing was Dr. Don Campbell, professor of music and director of choral ensembles at Southern Wesleyan; Prof. Jane Dill, chair of Southern Wesleyan’s Fine Arts Division; Kendall and Lisa Hawkins, her parents; Amber Crain, her sister; and friend Dustin Drake.
The music scholarship is renewable and open to students who are active in their school’s music programs and Southern Wesleyan students involved in each of the university’s three performing groups.
