Walhalla’s Knox receives SWU ensemble scholarship

    Lynda Knox of Walhalla High School signs a letter of intent to Southern Wesleyan University’s Department of Music, where she will enroll in Fall 2018.     Lynda Knox, a graduate of Walhalla High School who plays flute, will participate in instrumental ensembles as she prepares to earn a music education degree in the Fine Arts Division of Southern Wesleyan University, a National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accredited institution.

    Present at her signing was Gregory Day, associate professor of music and director of instrumental ensembles; Richard Knox, Lynda’s father; Lisa Knox, Lynda’s mother; and Missy Knox, Lynda’s aunt. Her band director is Chris Udell.

    The music scholarship is renewable and open to students who are active in their school’s music programs and Southern Wesleyan students involved in each of the university’s three performing groups.
