Two New Officers Have Been Appointed to the Palmetto State Teachers Association (PSTA) SWU Student Chapter

Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina, has appointed two new officers to the Palmetto State Teachers Association (PSTA) SWU Student Chapter which was established spring of 2024.
Dr. Janice Young and Dr. Trez Flemings will serve as faculty advisors for the chapter, supporting students as they gain valuable educational leadership experience.
Lana Pitts, the current President, will be stepping down, and Isaac Padgett will take over this role as President. Caroline Childs has been appointed the new Vice President, Hannah Simmons will serve as Treasurer, and Emilee Westmoreland will continue as Secretary.
Exciting plans are underway for the upcoming year as this group leads initiatives to enhance opportunities within the education department and boost student engagement at Southern Wesleyan.
Founded in 1976, the Palmetto State Teachers Association is the largest association for educators in South Carolina. Its diverse membership includes classroom teachers, administrators, pre-service teachers, and retired educators. The PSTA offers professional development, legislative updates, money-saving discounts, and professional liability coverage to its members.
