SWU’s Region 1 Science Fair 2025 Accepted as Affiliate of Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)
Central, SC — Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) is proud to announce that the South Carolina Region 1 Science Fair has officially been accepted as an affiliate of the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This exciting development means that top finalists from the Region 1 Science Fair will have the opportunity to compete at the 2025 Regeneron ISEF competition in Columbus, OH, May 10th-16th, marking a new chapter for the science fair and its participants.
This affiliation elevates the level of competition for students across the region, offering them an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their innovative projects on an international stage. The Regeneron ISEF is widely recognized as the world’s most esteemed science fairs, attracting young scientists from around the globe to complete for nearly $9 million in awards, prizes and scholarships and offering a platform to inspire and launch future scientific careers.
“We are thrilled to bring this new level of opportunity to our Upstate high school students,” said Dr. William D. Barker, Southern Wesleyan University President. “Affiliating with ISEF significantly enhances the quality and visibility of the projects we will see at the Region 1 Science Fair.”
Additionally, the SC Region 1 Science Fair will continue their affiliation with the ThermoFisher Junior Innovators Challenge, the national middle school science fair. The top 10% of middle school entrants are eligible for nomination to this exciting program.
