SWU provides triathletes with pre-race nourishment
They came to the Central campus to get their necessary “carb load” before competing in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships, taking place in nearby Clemson. According to Doug Barry, Southern Wesleyan’s food services director, they consumed 500 pounds of pasta, 170 pounds of green salad, 20 gallons of Alfredo sauce, 45 gallons of spaghetti sauce, 3,000 cookies, 2,500 rolls and 30 loaves of bread, 100 gallons of Gatorade and 45 gallons of lemonade.
