SWU names Thornton associate dean
Dr. Mona Thornton has been appointed as associate dean of the School of Education and professor of education beginning July 1.
She received her BS and MS in child development from Howard University and her Ed.D. in early childhood education from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Over the course of her career, she has served on the faculty or as an administrator at Norfolk State University, Howard University and, most recently, at Benedict College in Columbia.
