SWU named among state’s top 10 online programs
SWU Online was named as one of South Carolina’s top 10 online programs, according to a recent report.
The analysis by OnlineDegrees.com used data from the National Center for Education Statistics, studying state institutions of higher learning to see who best serves students seeking an online degree. Metrics such as graduation rate, financial aid awarded, placement services and distance education participation were factored into the study.
“Southern Wesleyan University has been a leader in the South for over 30 years in adult education, and now that also included online higher education,” said Dr. Todd Voss, university president. “To receive another confirmation of our quality and innovation for student learning as a top 10 institution in South Carolina with online degree programs supports our mission so very well.”
“We have some truly transformational ideas going now in SWU Online,” said Dr. Lynn Brown-Bulloch, Southern Wesleyan University’s vice provost for online learning. Brown-Bulloch added that, in the spirit of the university’s commitment to inventive learning, new degrees being developed in business and other professional areas have the potential to be “game changers.”
Southern Wesleyan is ranked ninth on the list, which includes Anderson University, Clemson University, the University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, The Citadel, Winthrop University, Columbia College, Coker College and North Greenville University.
Southern Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered, student-focused, faith-filled community that offers inventive learning experiences. The university endeavors to prepare its students to be dedicated scholars and servant-leaders who impact the world for Christ.
