    Christian May, an education major from Smithville, Ga., plays a game of checkers with a young festivalgoer during the Central Railroad Festival. SWU provided crafts and games during the festival, April 25 in downtown Central. May, along with other students, faculty and staff, volunteered at the festival.

     

    Starting the Railroad Festival on a ‘high note’

    The SWU Jazz Band, directed by Greg Day, professor of music, kicked off the 2015 Central Railroad Festival with “toe-tappin’” tunes. The band has opened the festival for several years, and the university is a festival sponsor.
