    Southern Wesleyan University hosted 53 students from the Carolinas, Virginia and Alabama for Campus Challenge. The competition for youth ages 12-19 took place July 24 and 25 at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the university's campus in Central, S.C.

    Campus Challenge is sponsored by The Wesleyan Church to help students discover and develop their God-given talents to honor God in a life of service to Him. A total of $34,600 in scholarships was awarded during this year's competition. Students were judged in 26 different categories that included vocal and instrumental performance, drama, art and photography.
