SWU Hosts Annual Scholarship Celebration Luncheon

Central, SC — Southern Wesleyan University hosted the annual Scholarship Celebration Luncheon to recognize and honor student scholarship recipients and their generous donors. For the 2024-2025 academic year, SWU had 126 students awarded financial assistance by 111 donor-funded scholarships. The event featured remarks by Dr. Bill Barker, University President, and Dr. Jonathan Sircy, Chair of the School of Religion and Humanities and Professor of English. Guests were entertained by the talented University Singers, led by Dr. Amber James, Department of Music Coordinator and Associate Professor of Music.
“We are proud to have an amazing coalition of generous donors who support the academic pursuits of SWU students,” said Rev. Emily Holley, Interim Vice President of Advancement. “Our guests look forward to this event every year as the students get to share their dreams and aspirations with the ones who are financially assisting with their education. We are deeply moved by the charitable investments made in our university to shape and mold the next generation of Christ-centered leaders. Thank you to every student, donor, and guest who joined us to celebrate all the great things God is doing on our campus.”
