SWU group views significant Biblical artifacts
Southern Wesleyan University students, faculty, staff and alumni traveled to Charlotte Feb. 5 to tour the "Passages" exhibit, featuring Biblical artifacts in the collection of the family of Steve Green, President of Hobby Lobby.
The exhibit featured ancient biblical manuscripts which included portions of the Dead Sea Scrolls, as well as interactive displays devoted to the Bible’s history, translation efforts and printing. The group heard a presentation from Dr. Scot McKendrick, the Head of History and Classical Study at the British Library, about scribes of the Great Western Manuscripts. The trip to Passages was organized by Student Life and the Student Government of Southern Wesleyan, and transportation was made possible by a donation from Craig and Hazel Dance of Champion Coach, Greenville. The 40,000 plus artifacts will be in Charlotte through March 30. Details about the exhibit are online at http://www.explorepassages.com/charlotte.
