Spring Visit Day
As most of the campus slept, the annual Spring Visit Day was coming alive! Prospective students and their parents, some from as far away as Ohio, gathered to enjoy a day filled with information, tours and giveaways. For some, it was their first time on Southern Wesleyan University’s campus, others had been here before, but for all it was a day well spent – confirming for most that SWU is definitely the school for them.
The day began at 10 a.m. with check-in at Folger Fine Arts Auditorium, where guests were greeted with the sounds of The Difference Praise Band. The band played several songs, and then the Second Witness drama team performed for everyone. Chad Peters, director of admissions, introduced SWU and the admissions team before everyone was divided into groups for tours. After the tours, the future SWU students went through a series of discussions featuring topics such as dorm life, spiritual life and academics, while parents focused their attention on financial aid and the process of admission. After lunch, a departmental fair was set up to give parents and students alike the opportunity to ask questions and meet with professors and current students. To wrap things up, there were more than 35 giveaways awarded, including things like CD players, lamps, T-shirts and a three-piece luggage set.
