Regional Science Fair Coming to SWU
The Regional Science Fair will take place March 15 at Southern Wesleyan University’s Central campus.
“We are excited about the opportunity to serve public, private, and home school students on our campus for this fun event,” said Staci Johnson, Regional Science Fair coordinator and member of the university’s science faculty. She expects almost 200 students from Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties to attend this year's fair.
Registration is open for students enrolled in public, private and home schools. A registration form, which is available at www.swu.edu/sciencefair, should be completed for entry by March 2.
The Regional Science Fair provides an opportunity for students in grades 3-12 who are interested in science and technology to pursue their personal areas of interest and to display their research as a presentation in a public competitive forum. A goal of the event is to create enthusiasm in science and technology through project-based inquiry.
All pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt, certificate and coupons from various local businesses. The first, second and third-prize winner in each division will receive a cash award and a plaque.

The Regional Science Fair at SWU is made possible, in part, by Duke Energy, which provides financial support and volunteers for the event.
