Maundy Thursday communion

Rev. Ken Dill, right, Southern Wesleyan University chaplain, passes the communion cup as he leads a group of students in the Lord's Supper at Newton Hobson Chapel on the university's campus in Central.
The university held a special Maundy Thursday observance on April 9, commemorating the mandate Christ gave his disciples to observe Holy Communion. Students, faculty and staff also took part in a foot washing, patterned after Christ's washing the feet of the disciples.
Also, students decorated the area in front of Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center with "Holy Graffiti" as part of a Maundy Thursday chapel service April 9. Celisa Patterson, a freshman human services major from Clemson, S.C., writes out a meaningful Bible verse as an expression of her faith.
