The facilitators were learning how to conduct activities on the high ropes course, part of the university's LORE (Leadership in Outdoor Recreation Education) program. The training, which included LORE coordinators Dr. Roger McKenzie and Dr. Daryl Couch, was conducted by Vertical Engineering, designers for the course.
