Honors students and science faculty publish paper
Parasitology International published a paper co-authored by SWU graduates Brian Daniels and Stephanie Sestito, along with Dr. Susan Rouse, biology professor and Science Division chair. The research, funded by grants from South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (SCICU), and done as a part of the SWU Honors Program explores infection with the neurotropic parasite Toxoplasma gondii and its impact on the mammalian host’s learning and memory. Daniels graduated from SWU in 2010 with science and English degrees; and Sestito graduated from SWU in 2012 with a biology degree.
