Faith Integration in the Academy Conference planned for December
Southern Wesleyan University will be hosting the Faith Integration in the Academy Conference this December.
The Faith Integration in the Academy Conference is a two-day virtual experience that will explore the intersection of Christian faith and academic pursuits. The conference is being held Dec. 8-9 via Zoom and will feature hands-on workshops, presentations, and a plenary session with Dr. Kenneth Badley, author of Faith & Learning: A Guide for Faculty.
Badley joined the faculty of Tyndale University in Toronto, Canada, as Professor by Special Appointment in 2008. He also teaches in the doctoral program at George Fox University in Newberg, Oreg. He received his doctorate in philosophy of education from the University of British Columbia in 1986, writing his dissertation on the meaning of the phrase “the integration of faith and learning.” He and co-author Patrick Allen wrote the book “Faith and Learning: A Guide for Faculty,” as well as its sequel “Echoes of Insight.” His newest book, “Generating Tact and Flow for Effective Teaching and Learning,” co-authored with Susanna M. Steeg Thornhill, will be released in November 2020.
Southern Wesleyan welcomes those who are interested in faith integration in education, especially those involved in higher education. Proposals will be considered for sessions as well.
