Dr. Nathan Street Selected for Fulbright Specialist Program
CENTRAL, S.C. – A SWU faculty member has been chosen for the Fulbright Specialist Program as part of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and World Learning.
Dr. Nathan Street, Assistant Professor of Graduate Education, is in his first year at SWU and teaches Ed.D. students in the School of Education and Music.
"It is an honor to be selected and to represent Southern Wesleyan University in this capacity. SWU has been an amazing experience thus far, and I am blessed to be able to take a little bit of SWU to wherever I will go in the world when I am matched with the project," said Dr. Street.
The Fulbright Specialist Program is a field-driven initiative: host institutions conceptualize and design projects and submit them to the Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy in their country. Once the Commission or Embassy approves it, the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs reviews the project for final approval.
As a candidate on the Fulbright Specialist Roster, Dr. Street is eligible for projects in over 150 countries. His term began on June 6, 2023, and lasts for three years. Once selected for a project, he will serve at a host institution for two weeks to over a month.
