This 4-course graduate certificate focuses on instructional design and leadership. As an added benefit, SWU offers all students a 50% discount off the cost of the 4th course.
As a student enrolled in the program, you will study:
- The foundations of online curriculum design and e-learning,
- How to create an online classroom for both synchronous (“real time”) and asynchronous instruction,
- How to develop e-learning curriculums that function across multiple socioeconomic classes and geographies,
- How to monitor progress and assess the quality of student work as an e-instructor.
In addition, SWU’s Christian ethic of care is integrated into each course. Upon completion of each course, you will receive graduate credit, which may be used toward the pursuit of a full M.Ed. in Instructional Design and eLearning.
Teachers in South Carolina who earn their Instructional Design Graduate Certificate from SWU are also eligible for the SC Department of Education Online Teacher Endorsement. This certificate does not lead to teacher certification.
