Engage the world. Write the future. Earn your BA in Media Communication.
As a Media Communication major at SWU, you will explore and understand your role in today’s media-saturated world. Become a media expert and learn the dynamics of journalism, writing, videography, and web design within a professional and faith-integrated context. Dive deep into video production and photojournalism with a concentration in Media Production, or immerse yourself in the theories and philosophies of modern media with a concentration in Mass Media Studies.
Become a thinker and a creator
Media Communication majors learn to create digital multimedia projects, give professional presentations, and develop content for and design websites. You will critically examine media messages found in film, popular music, and other media outlets and learn to understand the complex dynamics of the communication process. Looking for something beyond the classroom? You will have access to the Crawford Strategy Media Production Lab with the equipment and technology currently used in the media industry. “My time at SWU was the foundational step of education I needed to take to realize that my career calling was completely across the country, in Los Angeles, CA, and eventually, my goal is to work/minister all over the world! The professors, students, and general community helped me grow into the person I am today, and am still becoming, and I will never forget my precious bit of time spent there.”
