
SC CREATE
Earn your special education courses for licensure through this fully-funded scholarship program.
Through the South Carolina Department of Education Office of Special Education Services, SC CREATE exists to prepare highly qualified professionals who will serve the needs of students with disabilities in South Carolina public and charter schools, and SCDE-operated programs. The SC CREATE program fully pays tuition and textbook costs for full-time South Carolina educators completing coursework required for add-on, alternative, or initial licensure in special education. Individuals employed full-time in SC public/charter schools and SCDE-operated programs are eligible, including Teachers, Teacher Assistants, non-instructional staff, and central office Staff in non-leadership positions.
Through SC CREATE funding, SWU offers coursework for add-on licensure in learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities.

How to Apply
- Complete the How to Qualify form on the SC CREATE website.
- Complete the online application on the SC CREATE website.
- Complete the SWU course application for SC CREATE. Then, scan and email the form back to the Office of Academic Records at .
