Southern Wesleyan University partners with Nazarene Theological Seminary to offer master of divinity degree

Southern Wesleyan University and Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, have announced a collaborative effort offering students a program to earn a master of divinity degree.

“The new cooperative program will provide students with highly-recognized faculty and learning resources from each institution and give students a leading-edge academic opportunity,” said Dr. David Spittal, SWU president.

Both institutions are committed to the preparation of men and women for ministry through strong academics and commitment to spiritual formation. Southern Wesleyan University offers undergraduate degrees in ministry and theology, as well as a master of ministry degree.

With this new program, students at Southern Wesleyan may complete a master of ministry degree or may choose to apply up to 45 hours of graduate credit to the 90 semester hours required to complete the master of divinity degree at Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Students who participate in this program will seek admission to both Southern Wesleyan University and Nazarene Theological Seminary, with academic records maintained at both institutions. Students will pay tuition at the institution offering the programs.
