High-flying homecoming at SWUAt right, Barbara Andrews of Pickens and her grandson, Brandon Bryant of Six Mile, take to the air during Homecoming ’08 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central. The hot air balloon was provided by ReMax. Homecoming festivities included carriage rides through the campus, a homecoming chapel service at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center, reunion luncheons and a barbecue supper. There was also a men’s and women’s cross country meet as well as a volleyball game in which the Lady Warriors defeated Brenau 3-1. The women’s soccer team lost to North Greenville University 1-0 and the men’s soccer team defeated NGU 1-0. Below, Amanda Kinney, a senior Human Services major from Matthews, N.C., was crowned Homecoming Queen and Phillip Fritts, a senior Communication major from Burlington, N.C., was crowned Homecoming King.
