CUSTODIAN

This is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position. First shift - 40 hours per week; work hours to be determined.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include general cleaning of dorms, conference and office areas throughout campus. Additional duties include complete cleaning responsibilities for certain buildings as well as keeping track of inventory of cleaning supplies. Summer schedules may require special and more in-depth cleaning with other staff, and during special events. Supervision of student workers will occasionally be required. As a member of the custodial staff, must be willing to be placed on the on call list for emergencies, on a rotational schedule.

Requirements

Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent. The mission of the Physical Plant is to provide a safe, clean living and learning environment; therefore, attention to detail is essential to the performance of this position. Must have knowledge of and experience with floor care and the use of cleaning chemicals, and must be able to operate carpet cleaning equipment and floor buffing machine. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise others, work as a team member and work well under the pressure of deadlines and set schedules.
