'85John Palmer received an award from S.C. State Sen. Thomas Alexander. He was recognized for giving more than 200 volunteer hours to the United Way during that calendar year. County Executive Director David McCutcheon said those hours are just what Palmer has donated to the United Way, adding that the Mountain Rest resident has spent a significant amount of time teaching adults to read and develop math skills. The Oconee County native spent nine-and-a-half of his 23 years on U.S. Air Force One, transporting the president and other dignitaries around the United States and the world. Dale Link was named teacher of the year at Tamassee-Salem High School. Link earned a religion degree from SWU. '08Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Charles Dunlap graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Tex. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core-values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. He received an associate's degree in 2008 from Southern Wesleyan University, Columbia. '09Kathy Hall, has been promoted to senior vice president and senior operations officer. She has more than 14 years of retail banking experience and she also has been with Harbor National since it opened. Teresa Dupuis was named director of product management at North American Rescue, based in Greer, S.C. Dupuis, who earned a bachelor of science degree from SWU, has more than 21 years of manufacturing quality experience from Michelin Tire Corp. and BMW Manufacturing. |
BIRTHS’99 Abigail Susannah Rampey was born May 22, 2009 to Matthew and Michelle Rampey. She weighed 9 lbs., 1oz., and was 20 inches long. ’06 Garrison James Crawford was born April 29, 2009, to Joel and Karen Crawford. He weighed 8.8 lbs. and was 21.5 inches long. Crawford is a program representative for Southern Wesleyan University in Charleston. OBITUARIES’26Juanita C.
