
Admissions - Adult and Graduate Studies
To be considered for admission to the adult undergraduate programs at Southern Wesleyan University, candidates must meet one of the following three criteria: be at least 21 years of age, OR have at least 24 transferrable undergraduate credits, OR give evidence of at least two years full-time employment. (M.Ed. Classroom Leadership applicants must have one year of full-time teaching experience. M.Ed. Administration and Supervision applicants must have three years of full-time teaching experience.)

Associate and Bachelor Degree Programs:
- Submission of a completed AGS application.
- $45 non-refundable application fee.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Home school students must provide evidence of membership in an approved home school association and provide an official transcript with a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; otherwise, applicant must submit GED scores.
- Transfer students who have attended other colleges or universities must provide official transcripts from each school attended as well as an official high school transcript. Be sure to include military transcripts, if applicable. Student must have earned a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA for all college work attempted.
- Evidence of current employment.
- For applicants for whom English is a second language, official TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper test), 213 (computer test) or equivalent evidence of proficiency in English.
Masters Degree Programs:
- Submission of a completed AGS application.
- $45 non-refundable application fee.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A 2.7 cumulative grade point average on all undergraduate coursework or on the final 60 hours of undergraduate coursework. M.Ed requires a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
- Official transcripts for all college-level course work attempted or completed, both undergraduate and graduate. Be sure to include military transcripts, if applicable.
- Two letters of recommendation from persons qualified to judge the applicant’s moral character, professional expertise, and capacity for graduate-level work.
- Evidence of current employment, two years of significant experience with 18 undergraduate semester hours in business administration, management, human resource management, or marketing.
- Appropriate work experience for those currently unemployed includes five years of significant work experience and 18 undergraduate semester hours in business administration, management, human resource management, or marketing; or five years of managerial experience.
- MSM and MBA applicants whose undergraduate GPA is below 2.7 may be required by the graduate administration committee to submit acceptable GMAT scores.
- M.Ed applicant whose GPA is below 3.0 may be required by the graduation administration committee to submit acceptable Graduate Record Exam or Miller Analogies Test scores.
- Applicants to the M.Ed. program must provide proof of teacher certification.
- For applicants for whom English is a second language, official TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper test), 213 (computer test) or equivalent evidence of proficiency in English.
