The mission of the School of Education is to prepare men and women to become Christian educators by fostering scholarship and a Christian ethic of care in the image and nature of Jesus so as to produce teachers who are leaders and world changers with the education profession.

Served on the South Carolina State Department of Education Subcommittee for Higher Education on the ADEPT evaluation instrument. |

Attended an EEDA workshop in Columbia to insure that Southern Wesleyan University meets state guidelines. |

Attended the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 Annual Teacher Education Conferences sponsored by the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators (SCATE) and the South Carolina Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (SCACTE). |

Served on Program Review Team for NCATE reviewing programs in Special Education using SPA standards for the South Carolina State Department of Education. |

Goals
| 1. | Assist the Dean, Associate Dean, and all faculty and staff within the School of Education. |
| 2. | To continue working with the Coordinator of Teacher Education to provide Orientation Sessions for Field Experience students. |
| 3. | To continue working with the Coordinator of Teacher Education to provide Orientation Sessions for students in the Clinical Experience. |
| 4. | Continue to revise and upgrade all syllabi to include INTASC Standards, CEC Principles and ADEPT Performance Standards. |
| 5. | Continue to assist in the collection of documents for the next NCATE visit. |
| 6. | Continue to represent Southern Wesleyan University as an institution where students learn and achieve goals in a positive Christian environment. |
| 7. | Continue to be an active member in my home church, Fellowship Community Church, in Liberty, South Carolina. |
