Computer Labs


These labs are used for classroom instruction and general student use. During scheduled class times, students other than those receiving instruction are not permitted access to labs. A semester schedule is provided at the lab entrance. Students may be required to show ID and reserve computer time. Class work takes priority over recreational activities such as e-mail and chatting.

Instructors and Information Technology staff supervise this lab during hours of operation. Questions or problems with software or hardware should be reported to instructors or to the help desk at extension 5050.

Newby Education Building

Located in the Newby Education Building Room 116, this lab hosts 30 Intel Core 2 Dual 2.4 computers running Vista on an Ethernet network. Microsoft Office 2007 is installed on each computer. Also available is Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Printing is routed to a network laser printer located in the lab.

Rickman Library Lower Level

Located in the Rickman Library Building, Room 0-119, this lab hosts 12 Intel Core 2 Dual 2.4 computers running Vista on an Ethernet network. Microsoft Office 2007 is installed on each computer. Also available is Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Printing is routed to a network laser printer located near the lab. These are now located in the main Library when you walk in.

Newton Hobson Fine Arts Building

Located in Newton Hobson Fine Arts Building, Room 207, this lab hosts 20 Intel Core 2 Dual 2.4 computers running Vista on an Ethernet network.  These computers have Microsoft Office 2007and Finale 2003 along with several other specialized software packages for music majors.

Gibson Science Building

Located in the Gibson Science Building Room 155, this lab hosts twelve Vista 12 Intel Quad Core 2.4 computers and is operated by the Science Division for Internet Computing majors. The computers are equipped with Microsoft development software tools, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Fireworks. Access to this laboratory is limited to students seeking an Internet computing major or minor.

Each AGS site hosts 20 Intel Core 2 Dual 2.4 computers running Vista on an Ethernet network. These computers have Microsoft Office 2007, Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Printing is routed to a network laser printer located near the lab.
